THE AIM OF THE PROJECT

Is to reduce violence in school. For these reason we need: to educate students including those with behavioral disorders and make them our partners in preventing and reducing the violent incidents in school to train teachers (i.e. develop educators' psycho-pedagogical competences) to train parents to manage conflicts.

OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the project is to create a common strategy to reduce violence (40%) in the partner schools by training children and parents via innovative methods. To do activities in each school: to improve knowledge about violence in school and society, thus making children & parents understand why conflicts happen; to present the positive and constructive part of the conflict and its effects; to make children, parents, teachers understand interpersonal relationships as a whole with all its characteristics and benefits; to analyze and compare the causes and effects of violence in schools; to encourage the learning of modern foreign languages

MAIN ACTIVITIES

1.Children being trained as peer mediators. The first step is to select twenty children from each school who will be trained by the school psychologist and teachers as peer mediators. They will learn how to resolve conflicts without resorting to manipulation, coercion, or violence;

2.Anti-violence room. Children involved in the project with the help of teachers and/or psychologist will arrange a classroom where you can attend courses, workshops, film displays, exhibitions or other events;

3.Anti-violence Guide

Children and teachers will write a useful guide that focuses on strategies of prevention/solving violence in school (in RO,EN,EST,PL,GR).

Target groups

¨ children being trained as mediators (80) ;

¨ number of parents attending the training course( 200);

¨ number of participants in the multiplier events (400);

¨ number of participants in project meetings in each host country : 25 in Romania, 25 in Greece, 25 in Estonia, 25 in Poland;

¨ number of pupils involved in mobility activities as part of a school partnership, 17 from Romania, 17 from Greece, 17 from Estonia,17 from Poland;

¨ number of teachers involved in mobility activities (8 teachers in transnational meetings and  32 teachers in Learning/Teaching/Training Activities): 10 from Romania, 10 from Greece, 10 from Estonia, 10 from Poland;

Impact

¨ Improvement of the school climate with less violent acts;

¨ Development of openness and cooperation with schools from other countries and a possible new European project development;

¨ Strengthening of the European dimension and its further development;

¨ Development of interdisciplinary approaches;

¨ Formation of stronger relationships between pupils and teachers from Europe;

¨ Improved teamwork between teaching, administration and management departments;

¨ Introduction of new teaching systems and new content at the school       level;

¨ Increased support and involvement of family members in school life;

¨ Increased support and involvement of other local stakeholders: local and regional authorities (The Police, School Inspectorates, companies, parents’ associations etc).
